Time to update everything once again. As your current or previous employer, we need your most current information and please… don’t forget that important apartment number. We will need you to double check your address (with apartment number), social security number, correct spelling of your name, and provide us with any updated e-mail address and phone numbers – Cell and Home. These are the basics so that we can provide you with information like your W-2 year-end tax form so you can file your taxes on time.
Please update your Federal (W-4) and State (DE-4) withholding forms so that if you have any changes in status, you are ready for 2025:
Have you moved – what is that new address?
You were married and wanted to file at a different withholding status?
You have a new child, or have you adopted and want to change your deductions?
You were divorced and want to change your filing status?
Do you want more taxes taken out of your check?
You now care for an elderly relative and need to claim them as a dependent?
Do you live in a new state?
Once again think about the changes that may not have been communicated to The Job Shop in 2024 so we can update your profile and be sure we can do our best to get you set up for 2025 with the most current information when issuing payroll checks and tax forms.
We do not provide tax advice, and we strongly encourage you to contact a tax professional for any questions you may have. Be pro-active as this is the time to set yourself up for a successful tax filing in 2024 and going forward in 2025.
Take your time when completing new tax forms as the forms have changed. You will want to fully understand all your options so read the forms and if you find yourself with questions contact a tax professional who can help you decide based on your unique circumstances the best deductions and withholdings to choose.
As always it is your responsibility to keep all check stubs, so you have your own record of the payments made to you. Keep copies of W-2’s and tax filings for every year you file. Keep your own set of information in case you need to question or dispute any taxing authority.
Thank you for your consideration and we will be on the lookout for any updates you send to us. Good luck with those tax filings and thank you for keeping your profile up to date.
