St Patrick’s Day has traditionally been the commemoration of Saint Patrick and the arrival of Christianity in Ireland, however in modern times it has become a day to celebrate the culture and heritage of the Irish in general. The people of San Francisco get together to honor the day with a parade held by the United Irish Societies of SF, bar crawls throughout the city while decked out in green and orange, and pinching those not wearing green for good luck. Today, I’m going to list 3 ways you can honor St Patrick’s Day this weekend.
St Patrick’s Day Block Party. On 3/17, you can head down to The Irish Bank at 10 Mark Lane, to join in on the fun! Check it out!
Visit one of the many pubs throughout San Francisco to participate in the St Patrick’s Day bar crawl. Check it out!
Make a donation to one of the local Irish Non profits in the Bay Area. A few include: United Irish Cultural Center, Celtic Cara Foundation, and the Irish Literary & Historical Society in Mill Valley.
