We are learning more and more about how important it is to take care of our health, that it helps with creativity, productivity, and energy. But what about on work days when we have a 30-minute lunch and not a lot of time?
Here are a few healthy things you can do during your lunch break:
Eat a healthy lunch. Pre-pack your lunches with healthy food that you enjoy. It will save money and time. Eating healthy foods boost performance.
Read. Take a few minutes to read a chapter of a book, or magazine article.
Walk. Go outside and get your steps in!
Breathe. Spend time doing breathing exercises or meditation.
Journal. Reduce stress by writing your thoughts in a journal.
Do an errand. Walk to drop off your mail, or pick up your dry cleaning.
Get outside. Inhale the fresh air and feel the sun (or fog) on your skin.
Get away from your desk. You don’t need to go far. Walk down the hallways or the stairwell, and eat your lunch away from your desk.
Work out. Do pushups, planks, squats, or stretch if you are able!
Listen to music that energizes you, or calms your mind.
Listen to a podcast or e-book and learn something new!
Take a nap.
Exercising and eating well will benefit you in the end, so start with small changes to see what you can do over the course of your lunch break. Your body and mind will thank you.
