Festival of the Impossible

The Festival of the Impossible is the first large-scale immersive art exhibition celebrating artwork that explores the impossible, featuring interactive installations.
The 4-day festival will feature a curated collection by several artists that will be creating across many mediums, pushing past the boundaries of reality and inspiring us with their visions.
This is a journey into the intimacy of Human-Machine, a concept which involves interaction through augmented experiences as well as enhanced human senses and deeper personal connections.
Visitors will be able to experience immersive art installations that evoke wonder and challenge our thinking about what could be possible as we move into the future.
Leave it to the forward thinking artists along with their amazing tools to keep us dreaming of what may come.

Build a Shark: 11:30am and 2pm Participants “design-build” a life-size white shark model piece by piece, discovering how each organ and sense of this awesome creature functions. By handling teeth and skin artifacts, and viewing a short documentary on our Farallones sharks, they’ll learn how their 400-million-year-old design still works to make them formidable top predators. Best for children ages 4-10 and their families. Register now
Shark Talk: 11:30am and 2pm Sharks: Fearful or Fascinating? Join shark expert David McGuire, of Shark Stewards, for a short film and talk on shark behavior and human interactions. Best for adults, children 10+ welcome. Register now

San Francisco’s favorite family picnic is back for 2019. Presidio Picnic brings together the best of the Bay Area food scene with the beauty of this national park site and views of the bay and the Golden Gate Bridge.
Held on the seven acre Main Parade Ground lawn, this weekly community event features food and drink from more than 30+ international mobile food creators representing the best of San Francisco’s multicultural food scene curated by Off the Grid.
But it’s not just about the grub; visitors can enjoy an ever-changing array of free activities including yoga classes, lawn games, a Presidio photo booth, free kids bike-riding lessons from the Presidio YMCA, and nature-based arts and crafts for kids in the Presidio Adventure Zone tent.
Grab a blanket and head to your national park for Presidio Picnic. This great family event takes place on the Presidio’s beautiful Main Parade Ground, a seven-acre lawn with views of the park, the city, and the San Francisco Bay.

The 17th annual Cole Valley Fair is on Sunday September 29th from 10 am-5 pm. The fair is free to attend, family-friendly and it features local artists, delicious food, live music, a full block of vintage automobiles owned by neighborhood residents, a display of historical Cole Valley photographs, children’s activities including a bounce house, balloon animals, face painting, SFFD fire truck (10 am-12 pm) and more.
Cole Valley is one of the best neighborhoods in San Francisco because of it’s small town feel, friendly neighbors, sunny weather, proximity to the rest of the city and much more. In Cole Valley you can grab your groceries, get your haircut, pick up a prescription and get in a workout all while chatting up the local business owners and bumping into your friends within a few blocks of your home.
The annual Cole Valley Fair takes place on Cole Street between Carl and Grattan Streets in San Francisco.
