Friday, November 30th
Pier 39, San Francisco

Join PIER 39 for the Winter Wine Pour on Friday, November 30th from 4 – 8 PM. Sip wine, toast the holidays with friends and family and enjoy The PIER’s dazzling new nightly tree lighting moments throughout the evening. Our 60-foot tree will become a kaleidoscope of swirling color, adorned with thousands of specialty lights and ornaments on the top of the hour from 5 – 10pm every night through January 1, 2019.
At the Winter Wine Pour, stroll The PIER and stop by participating businesses to enjoy wine tastings featuring wine from the Livermore Valley Wine County. The Livermore Valley Wine Country, located in the Tri-Valley – 35 miles east of PIER 39, is one of California’s oldest wine regions. Award-winning since 1898, the Livermore Valley is home to nearly 60 family-owned wineries, warm and inviting tasting rooms, with easy access from anywhere in the Bay Area.
Wine Pour attendees will receive wine tastings, discounts at participating businesses, a commemorative wine glass and enjoy festive holiday entertainment. Advance tickets are on sale for $25 until November 29th, 2018. A limited number of tickets will also be available day-of in the PIER 39 Entrance Plaza for $30 (cash only).
A portion of tickets sales will benefit Aquarium of the Bay’s free conservation education program for Bay Area children.

See it first. Join us for an advanced look at Night Bloom. Festivities include a live DJ performance, light up activities, selfie stations, plus food and beverage. Tickets are $50 and includes a complimentary beer or wine. This event is 21+ only.
Rooms evoking the tropics will dazzle in this interactive nighttime experience. Journey through the five galleries and be transported with Night Bloom.
Prism: Colorful beams will pique your curiosity and encourage exploration.

Night Bloom is developed in collaboration with Lightswitch, a consortium of internationally recognized lighting, media, and visual designers, who create unforgettable experiences where people live, work, learn and play. Lightswitch has installed lush light art exhibits at Descanso Gardens Guild, the Morton Arboretum and museums and events all over the world.

The annual Children’s Festival and Light Show in downtown Redwood City features a parade, musical performances and entertainment, real snow to play in, a carnival, Santa Claus and more.
Each year, on the first Saturday of December, Redwood City’s Downtown throws a party in celebration of the holiday season. They have a parade, entertainment, snow and Santa Claus. Bring the little ones and watch the tree lighting in Courthouse Square followed by the Caltrain Holiday Train.
Please note, unfortunately, there will not be any fireworks in 2018.
Sunday, December 2nd
Union Square, San Francisco

Don’t know how to skate? Kaiser Permanente is inviting beginner skaters to the Safeway Holiday Ice Rink in Union Square presented by Alaska Airlines to come learn from professional skate instructors every weekend.
Lessons are free (including skate rental) to those who sign up in advance, thanks to Kaiser Permanente. Signups are limited to 50 participants per session.
Available for ages 3 to 300, lessons will take place every Saturday and Sunday morning from 8:30 to 9:30 am throughout the season.
Check in time is 8:15 am – Standbys admitted after 8:15 am
How Can I Reserve Tickets? Reservations for next classes will be released one week in advance. Please note that these spots are very limited and often book up far in advance.
Gourmet Ghetto, Berkeley

Bring boots and mittens to play in the snow at the annual Snow Day in the Gourmet Ghetto.
Visit with the Snow Queen as she listens to all of your holiday wishes, ride the live ponies, make free DIY crafts for kids, and shop for one-of-a-kind holiday gifts from local art, craft, and artisan food vendors.
Warm up with free hot apple cider and snacks, provided by Safeway. Enjoy the California Revels Solstice Ensemble singers, the Bay Area Youth Harp Ensemble, and Chris Abbe, a balloon twister, who make the day extra fun.
Back again, find the ‘ice’ in your snowball; one has a real diamond ring inside, donated by M. Lowe & Co. as a benefit for the Berkeley Schools.
This is a free event for children of all ages sponsored by the North Shattuck Association in conjunction with M. Lowe & Co., Safeway, Buy Local Berkeley, Spokes, 510Families, East Bay Express, Berkeley Community Media, and East Bay Loop.
The Gourmet Ghetto is just 6 blocks north of the Downtown Berkeley BART station and has festive lights in over 50 trees. Free street parking on Sundays. Free valet stroller and bike parking by Spokes.
