Pier 39 is turning 39 and they’re celebrating with a bang. Beginning in January 2017, join in every Friday for 39 weeks to celebrate 39 years of amazing views, fresh seafood, unique local shopping and their famous sea lions.
Each week, they’ll be serving up something different: from discounts and giveaways to fun special events like movie nights, a ’70s roller disco party, beer and wine pours, and more.

Black History Film Festival

No matter what your nationality or what you have been taught while attending school in the United States, Black History has always lagged in the educational system in America & the Diaspora.
The San Francisco Black Film Festival will be taking place at various venues located in San Francisco. There will be special events and a Filmmaker’s Lounge for media types to socialize and network. Forums discussing the state of Independent Film and how you can cash in within the new environment as Online Streaming fights for good content. There will be a music aspect as well as discuss “Scores” and show music documentaries supplemented by live shows with Q&A’s.
This is the place to find out how to get that project done within your budget parameters and find out how to DIY with a full crew or not. This festival is for everyone and everyone is invited. Come share the culture that helped shape San Francisco and enjoy great films that are of entertainment and importance to all.

Let your imagination soar at this colorful, family-friendly festival featuring all things kite. The artistry, diversity, and fun of modern flying will take your breath away! The free, all-day event features a free “build you own kite” booth, hands on learning from kite experts, a kite art exhibition, giant kites, mega team flying, Taiko drummers, and food trucks.
Offered in partnership with Highline Kites.
Registration is appreciated but not required. Free kites are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration does not guarantee a seat in the kite-making tent.

2017 Northern California Pirate Festival

Embrace your inner buccaneer this Father’s Day Weekend and set sail for the biggest playground for all things pirate at the annual Northern California Pirate Festival in Vallejo’s Waterfront Park.It’s the largest pirate event in the United States.

Don your pirate garb and join over 500 costumed actors, crafters and musicians at this annual fest which is equal parts Mardi Gras, state fair, living history, and pegged-leg eye-patch-wearin’ fan fest that appeals to children and adults alike.
With four stages of continuous entertainment, rows of nautically inspired handcrafts, gourmet foods, micro-brewed beers, and ship-to-shore canon battles, visitors will encounter proper British Naval Officers and alluring mythical mermaids.

Getting There Use the FREE shuttle: The PresidiGo operates a route from downtown San Francisco to the Presidio and two routes within the park.
The Downtown express route picks up from the Transbay Terminal, Embarcadero BART, and Union Street/Van Ness Avenue before dropping of at the Presidio Transit Center. > Maps & Departures
