Friday, February 14th
California Ballroom, Oakland
7 PM, All Ages
After a very successful First Annual Bay Area Latin Jazz Festival (held on August 17, 2019 at Rowell Ranch in Castro Valley), Montuno Productions is happy to announce a new festival-related concert series, starting with our upcoming St. Valentine’s Day Concert, a celebration of love and friendship.
[ONLINE SALES WILL STOP ON FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 14TH AT 2PM. Tickets will be sold at the door, cash or credit card.]
The event, planned as a classy dance concert reminiscent of Old San Juan’s Casa de España concerts in the ’70s and ’80s, will feature three great salsa bands, including Edgardo & Candela, Latin Rhythm Boys, and Montuno Productions All-Stars Salsa Orchestra (with multiple Grammy Award recipients having won over 20 awards among them for past projects). Radio personality, Luis Medina, will be the show’s DJ and MC.
And what better place for a concert like this than the majestic 7,500 square-foot California Ballroom, featuring high gold leaf ceiling, a large stage with curtains and spotlights, and a sizable and smooth dance floor. “An invitation to this impressive Art Deco landmark — just a few blocks from picturesque Lake Merritt — is an occasion to look forward to.”
Attendees will also be able to order Puerto Rican food, including pernil, arroz con gandules, pollo, y ensalada.
Stow Lake Boathouse, San Francisco
7:30 PM, All Ages
Enjoy the most reviewed intimate music experience WORLDWIDE! Lakehouse Jazz, a unique and intimate concert experience in the iconic Golden Gate Park at a hidden and iconic boathouse. As Karl the Fog moves over the lake and covers a slew of colorful boats, we’ll sit inside our intimate and improvised concert venue where the music of the best musicians in the Bay Area and a glass of beer or wine will be the perfect way to unwind your week. By attending this event not only you’ll listen and learn jazz from some of the best musicians in The Bay Area but also, you’ll be actively supporting the local art scene and its musicians. Kudos!
Every week we feature new bands. This makes each concert unique and fresh. All things Jazz, from 1920’s Swing to Latin Jazz, Funk, Fusion and original compositions.
About the venue
Located in the heart of SF’s famous Golden Gate Park, there’s a lovely boathouse known mostly to locals. Every Friday we transform this space into a non-conventional intimate music venue. Nearby you can start off your evening by visiting the best Gold Gate Park has to offer. Our top favorites are the De Young Museum, the Japanese Garden, Academy of Science, and of course a cruise around the Stow Lake on a paddleboat, perfect for a date!]
