Friday, December 14th

Holiday Lights & Sights Boat Parade
Pier 39, San Francisco

Come out and see the oldest and largest lighted holiday boat parade on the San Francisco Bay. Boats festooned with lights and holiday decorations will parade along the waterfront on December 14, 2018.
A holiday tradition since 1994, the parade typically includes members of the St. Francis Yacht Club, Fisherman’s Wharf Fishing Fleet, Golden Gate Yacht Club, PIER 39 Marina, and the Sea Scouts.
Parade Route and Best Viewing Locations:
The parade route will begin just off of PIER 39, proceeding west past Fisherman’s Wharf, Fort Mason and the St. Francis Yacht Club, and will turn around off of Crissy Field to return along the waterfront.
Spectators can enjoy wonderful views from Aquatic Park, PIER 39, the Marina Green, and Crissy Field. In addition to offering a fantastic vantage point, restaurants along the Wharf will be featuring traditional holiday menus.
The Fisherman’s Wharf Fishing Fleet will remain lit throughout the holiday season. The best viewing of this display can be found at the Sport Fishing Harbor along Jefferson Street between Jones and Taylor.

Old Oakland Ice Rink Grand Opening

Join Oakland Friday, December 14, 2018 to celebrate the grand opening and ribbon cutting of the Old Oakland Holiday Ice Rink with City Of Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf and District 3 Councilperson Lynette Gibson McElhaney. Entertainment will be provided by Sterling James and DJ Eternal of KBLX.
Oakland Central brings Downtown Oakland its very own outdoor holiday ice skating rink, the Old Oakland Holiday Ice Rink on the corner of 9th and Washington, in one of Oakland’s most beautiful and iconic neighborhoods. Celebrate the holiday season and bring in the new year on the ice

Parking
There are many parking options in Downtown Oakland including street parking, surface lots, and parking garages. All street parking is $2.00 per hour, and the City recently upgraded its parking meters to Smart Meters that accept credit cards and coins. Parkme is an interactive map on desktop or mobile that can even reserve a parking space in lots and garages. More on parking here.
Public Transportation
Downtown Oakland is not only in the heart of Oakland, it is also located in the geographical epicenter of the greater San Francisco Bay Area. It’s also easy to get to and get around once you’re here. It is easily accessible by multiple modes of transportation including train (BART and Amtrak), Bus (AC Transit), Ferry (San Francisco Bay Ferry), Bike Share, and of course, by rideshare or taxi.

On Saturday, December 15, we will be taking over some of the best bars in the city for a jolly ‘ol Holiday Pub Crawl complete with cheap drinks, sketchy holiday decorations and even a few gifts for some lucky crawlers. No matter how you celebrate the holidays, throwing back beers, holiday drinks and cruising from bar to bar is something that can be enjoyed by all. Feel free to throw on your best ugly Christmas Sweater, Hannukah-inspired gear or whatever tickles your fancy. Santa Costumes, Naughty Elves and other creative get ups are also welcome. Enjoy $3 Drinks, $3 Cocktails and $3 Shots at your favorite Polk Street Bars.

HOW DOES THIS WORK? Once you check in and receive your wristband and Pub Crawl Map, you can choose your own path. There will be too many people to be on a specific schedule, so you can just follow the crowd at your own pace. Specials will be available at ALL the bars during the event times.
