Workshop SF: First Friday Night Market

Every first Friday, WorkshopSF hosts an open house / party with DIY, art, fun and community. It’s a chance to preview classes, see the space, and just hang out with neighborhood peeps! We welcome all.
For August, we are hosting a Night Market with several of our talented teachers and students who are now makers that learned at Workshop. Come shop locally made wares, art & designs. Vendors include:

Oakland First Fridays is an immersive art and community experience on the first Friday of each month on Telegraph Avenue from West Grand to 27th Street.
Every First Friday from 5–9:30 pm, Oakland’s KONO district (Koreatown Northgate) springs to life with galleries, artist collectives, street artists, local culinary artisans, performers, musicians, dancers, DJs, and poets gathering for Oakland First Friday events.
Thousands of people come from across the Bay Area and beyond to see and experience art, be inspired, eat great food, enjoy live music, and stroll through the amazing, eclectic city of Oakland.
One of the cultural partners of Oakland First Fridays is Oakland Art Murmur, a collection of galleries and mixed-use venues many of which are open First Friday evenings. The range of artistic exhibitions is inspiring.
Most of the venues are open from 6–9 pm. Many of the galleries are adjacent to the Telegraph Avenue site of Oakland First Fridays on 23rd, 24th, 25th and 26th Streets going east toward the hills.
Directions to Oakland First Fridays Parking is a breeze! Here is a list of parking garages in the area. There are limited parking meters on side streets along Telegraph Ave. Make sure to bring quarters! Feeling lazy? Take BART to 19th Street and stroll a few blocks down to 23rd Street and Telegraph Ave.

4th Annual Berkeley Comic Con

The Berkeley Comic Con was started by two local comic collectors who also sell comics. We want to create a regular event that features a treasure trove of back issue comic books. We want to bring collectors and readers together with sellers in the most efficient way possible. One way to do this is our innovative want list feature on the home page. If there’s a comic you’ve been hunting for awhile or a title that no one seems to bring, please send your requests in using that form. We will query the vendors and get back to you with who will be bringing that type of material for you to check out. No longer will you have to hear “I have that but left it at home/the warehouse/the shop.” From the vendor perspective, it makes it much more efficient to bring items that have a high likelihood of selling to the people who have requested them. If you don’t have specific wantlists but just want to put something like high grade silver or cheap bronze age or discount trades, that’s fine too. We will pass that on to the vendors as well.

The festival features performances from famous Filipino entertainers, competitions, cook-offs, games and a bazaar.
There are lots of Fil-Am festivals celebrated in the Bay Area, but the Adobo Festival is the only Fil-Am festival that emphasizes Filipino food and music. Adobo Festival is a multi-activity production, offering several choices of entertainment like:

OPEN MIC RULES-If you want to sign up for the open mic follow our IG @soulfulofnoise. The sign up sheet will be posted the day of the event. Bring your music on a flash drive. The Dj plays your record and our house band, The Noise, will learn your music on the spot. The Dj cuts the track and you perform with the band. Each artist is allowed to perform ONE record, and if the crowd wants to hear more then by all means keep them entertained!

San Francisco’s favorite family picnic is back for 2018. Presidio Picnic brings together the best of the Bay Area food scene with the beauty of this national park site and views of the bay and the Golden Gate Bridge.
Held on the seven acre Main Parade Ground lawn, this weekly community event features food and drink from more than 25 local vendors, food trucks & pop-ups.
But it’s not just about the grub; visitors can enjoy an ever-changing array of free activities including yoga classes, lawn games, a Presidio photo booth, free kids bike-riding lessons from the Presidio YMCA, and nature-based arts and crafts for kids in the Presidio Adventure Zone tent.
New for 2018 is a series of monthly cultural performances.
