Allison Goldberg & Jen Jamula are performers whose work has been recognized by Good Morning America, NPR, Newsweek, Forbes, WIRED, and more. The duo also created How To Break Up By Text, a comedy/therapy show which airs and analyzes audience text breakups on the spot. The pair was featured on the cover of Time Out New York as two of the “top ten funniest women in NYC.”  They graduated from Yale University.

The Mayor’s Chinatown Ping Pong Tournament is coming up again on Sunday, August 20, 2017. Mayor Lee will demonstrate his skills by playing with some of you to kick off the tournament.

Come out for a day of ping pong and family fun. Cheer on your favorite ping pong teams. For spectators, the best place to watch will likely be Old Saint Mary’s Cathedral Church where the advanced tournament is.


> Want to Play? Teams of 5 players can register to play (it’s free) – deadline is July 21st (or whenever spots fill up)

The tournament takes place in the following locations:

  1. Portsmouth Square at 733 Kearny Street*

  2. Old Saint Mary’s Cathedral Church at 660 California Street (Advanced)

  3. Gordon J Lau Elementary School at 950 Clay Street between Powell and Stockton Street (Beginner)

  4. Willie “Woo Woo” Wong Recreation Center at Sacramento & Waverly Street (Intermediate)

  5. St. Mary’s School at 838 Kearny Street (Novice)*

Please note that Portsmouth Square is listed as a venue on the Ping Pong tournament website, but it was not listed in their annual email, so we’re not sure if it’s an oversight or if the venue is no longer being used.

Off The Grid: Presidio Picnic

San Francisco’s favorite family picnic is back for 2017. Presidio Picnic brings together the best of the Bay Area food scene with the beauty of this national park site and views of the bay and the Golden Gate Bridge.

Season-long amenities – Free yoga every Sunday 11am-12pm with Lubbdubb (bring your own yoga mat) – Free bike valet with The New Wheel.

Food Trucks / Pop-Ups The list may change throughout the season, but expect to see 30+ vendors like Bi-Rite Creamery, Nopalito, Senor Sisig, Wing Wings, Del Popolo, Hookt Doughnuts, Dum Indian Food, the Grilled Cheese Guy and tons more.

Getting There Use the FREE shuttle: The PresidiGo operates a route from downtown San Francisco to the Presidio and two routes within the park.

  1. The Downtown express route picks up from the Transbay Terminal, Embarcadero BART, and Union Street/Van Ness Avenue before dropping of at the Presidio Transit Center. > Maps & Departures

  2. The Around the Park routes run two-continuous loops within the Presidio. Both routes originate at the Presidio Transit Center and connect with MUNI and Golden Gate Transit at several locations. > Maps & Departures
