Weekend Planner

50033-oh-hello-weekend

Welcome to Weekend Planner. Every Friday we put together a list of the weekend events we think look most interesting and provide them here. Keep in mind there is always a lot more going on, and all it takes is a little digging to find something that will be the perfect activity for you.

Friday, Mar. 20

quartet

Presidio Trust, San Francisco, CA

6PM, All Ages

Free

From modern to repertory, the Telegraph Quartet is intent on busting down the barriers of chamber music through a dedication to bringing classical music out of the hall and into the home.

The Telegraph Quartet was formed in September 2013 in San Francisco and shortly after their inception won the prestigious Grand Prize in the international Fischoff Chamber Music Competition (May 2014). The quartet was selected to be one of the Shouse Institute Ensembles, at the Great Lakes Music Festival, directed by Paul Katz, for the summer of 2014.

Highlights of their current season include a three-concert series at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, a residency with San Francisco Friends of Chamber Music’s Presidio Concert Series, and a featured concert as a guest ensemble for the opening concerts at Kneisel Hall Music Festival.

This event is free, however there is limited space, so make sure to register for the event at presidioofficersclub.com.

Megan

Presidio Officers Club, San Francisco, CA

7PM, All Ages

Free

Join special host Renee Richardson from the KFOG morning show for a Saturday evening of music, cocktails, and fun at the Presidio Officers’ Club.

The featured performer is Megan Slankard. Said one reviewer, “Slankard’s vocal style is so distinctive that simply naming influences (Ani DiFranco, Alanis Morissette) doesn’t do it justice. Her vocal melodies are immediately arresting, she uses hip-hop phrasing and whisper-to-roar dynamics like a pro, and she never lets her impeccable technique eclipse the emotion she pours into her performances.”

Drinks will be available for purchase from Arguello restaurant.

The event is free but you must pre-register to reserve your space.
