Mindful Life Project’s First Annual Benefit Concert

Come and support Mindful Life Project by attending our 1st annual benefit concert! The night will be filled with Mindful Hip-Hop with special performances from Safahri Ra, Coco Peila, Hazel Rose, amazing music by special guest Hyim, *Richmond’s very own Lock Smith (one of the top freestyle rappers in the world), and other special guests, festivities, appetizers, a silent auction, and raffle. Beer and wine will be available for purchase. Come show your support of the work we do in the community!

Mindful Life Project serves low-income schools and empowers students through mindfulness based programs. Our innovative approach blends mindfulness with yoga, expressive arts and mindful hip-hop through culturally relevant teaching strategies to deliver direct service mindfulness-based programs that empower youth and teachers to create positive learning communities. We serve over 6,500 Richmond, San Pablo, and Rodeo students with mindfulness-based instruction.

All proceeds from this event will help further Mindful Life Project’s mission and empower the youth we serve!

Save the Waves Film Festival

Victoria Theater, San Francisco

The 7th annual Save The Waves Film Festival presented by Pacifico will continue its 2015 tour with an epic evening of live music and international surf films at the Victoria Theatre in San Francisco on Friday 11/20.  Bay area folk-rockers Frankie Boots & The County Line will open the night’s festivities which will feature world premieres of surf, adventure, and documentary films.  The Save The Waves Film Festival is a fundraiser for the Save The Waves Coalition and World Surfing Reserves, and all proceeds support their international coastal conservation programs.

This event will have a cash bar with offerings from Pacifico Beer, Tito’s Vodka, and Suerte Tequila.  To make our film festival more eco-responsible, we have eliminated single-use plastic cups at our bars.  We will be selling stainless steel pint cups for $10 (one free beer with purchase!) or feel free to bring your own reusable cup.  Thanks for helping us make this year’s film festival the greenest yet!

For our Grand Tasting, we will be featuring an extensive variety of these artisanally produced creations from America’s Top Breweries. Nearly 75 participating breweries from across the country, with a special focus on SF-Area Breweries are each expected to showcase 2 of their offerings (about 150 total) with a strong emphasis on their Limited Release and Seasonal selections.
