Meet the Staff: Meenal Tyagi
In today’s Meet the Staff feature we meet our newest recruiter extraordinaire, Meenal Tyagi! Meenal joined our staff with a focus on tech companies and careers, and has been expanding The Job Shop’s reach on those!
Q: Who are you, and how long have you been at the Job Shop?
A: My name is Meenal Tyagi (MEE-nel TEE-ah-gee). I have been with The Job Shop since November 2017. I temped with TJS then worked for a startup for about 3 months as Sales/Marketing and then came on board at TJS as an Associate in April 2018.
Q: What do you do at the Job Shop?
A: Recruitment! I adore it! Finding the perfect candidate(s) for a client(s) and vice versa.
Q: What is your favorite part of the job? What is the most rewarding aspect of it?
A: My favorite part of the job is learning about where candidates want to go in their career paths. The most rewarding aspect is helping them get there!
Q: What do you think makes for an ideal candidate?
A: A strong work ethic and adaptability.
Q: If you could give one piece of advice to people looking to work with The Job Shop, what would it be?
A: Present yourself well. You have what you have in terms of experience but sometimes, what you are lacking in experience you make up with your professional presentation and an ambitious outlook for your career.
Q: What do you do for fun? What are your hobbies and interests?
A: I read for fun, mostly romances (yes, I am girly). My decompress activity is playing League of Legends (ask me about it). I also enjoy cooking for friends/family!
Q: Do you have any interesting/funny anecdotes about your time at The Job Shop?
A: We have had several dogs at TJS that were brought in just for the day for Golden Gate Lab Rescue and I ADORE them…especially Oliver (the most adorable puppy). I do not have pets of my own and this way I can share in the joy of having one!
Q: Outside of work, what are you passionate about?
A: My friends and family. It is as simple as that!
Q: What is one thing about you that might surprise people?
A: I went to college in China (Guangzhou) and Thailand (Bangkok).
Q: Anything else you’d like people to know?
A: I am big on communication. Tell me your availability; if you can’t make it to an interview (with me or a client); if you rolled out of bed a little later than expected… whatever it is, let me know. I would rather know than just wonder if you are ever going to show up or not.
Have a question for Meenal, or anyone else on the staff? Leave it in the comments!
